Authorship should be based on appropriate methods of data analysis and display and on collective responsibility for their work and for the content of their publications. The research literature is a record not only of what has been discovered but also of who made the discovery. The authorship of research publications should closely reflect contributions of the individuals to the work. The criteria for Authorship and acknowledgement should be arranged at the beginning of the project. The major contributors should be listed as authors while those who took part in the work with less substantial, or purely technical, contributions to the research or to the publication, should be listed in an acknowledgement section. The submitted and accepted versions, such as any change and modifications, of the publication should be accredited and accepted by all the authors, including any who have been removed from the list. The Authors should be organized in the following way:
1 - The Corresponding Author is either the first author, or a senior author from the institution, who has been involved with all aspects of the paper. He/She is the person that is in touch during all the process of the publication, from the beginning to the end, with the Publishing House. The Corresponding Author is a point of contact between the Editor and the other authors and should keep co-authors informed and involve them in major decisions about the publication.
2 - The First Author directs and controls the analysis and creation of data and the correct explanations of the results. He/she submits the paper to the journal, once the content is approved by all authors.
3 - All the authors who contributed to the work.
The Authorship criteria should be followed, published and steadily protected by research organization, universities, and academic institutions. The responsibility for the correct attribution of authorship lies within authors themselves working under the guidance of their institution. The role of the research organization should be to support and increase impartial and suitable rules of authorship and
to encourage practices preventing guest, gift, and ghost authorship.
When the corresponding author submit a manuscript for the publication, we ask him to identify all other authors at each level of participation and contribution, in order to verify their consent to the publication of the paper.
Where necessary, it would be appropriate to require authors and contributors cognizance of who did what in the project and drafting of the manuscript.
Authors of submitted and accepted manuscript should confirm and state, in sending the publication requirements, that submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere in any language or form. The manuscript should describe an original work. It should not be under consideration by any other journal or conference.
Applicable former publications should be correctly validated and referenced. The system of citing other people’s ideas or results, as references in
the paper is the normal process. Authentic wording taken directly from publications by other researchers should be written in quotation marks with the proper citations.
In order to safeguard the originality of the work, authors should provide securing permission for the reproduction of any figure, table or extensive (more than fifty words) extract from the text of a source that is copyrighted or owned by a party other than Praise Worthy Prize or the author.
This behavior should always be held by the authors of the submitted manuscript, citing properly the sources that have influenced their work. A signed permission should be provided by third parties if their private information have been obtained by means of confidential activities and used or reported in the manuscript.
An ethical behavior for the publication considers that none of the Authors should benefit from reported results and discussions in the paper. The
conflict of interest takes place when individual authors' commitments are related with the content of the paper. Possible conflicts of interest have to be acknowledged on submission of a paper. The editor and reviewers should consider this potential conflict of interest into the evaluation of the paper.
Authors should confirm and state, in sending the publication requirements, that for the submitted manuscript there is no conflict of interest to declare. Otherwise, they should declare and acknowledge that there is a competing interests with the publication of that manuscript.
The Authors should obtain proper approval, licensing or registration before the
research on Human or Animal Subjects begins and provide it to the editor in order to prove that the research was carried out ethically. The results of the research should be shared and published according the consent of the individual, safeguarding his/her anonymity.
A plan of the research should be arranged by the Authors and then shared with the Editors. It is a moral duty for a Researcher publishing all the results, including unsuccessful studies and experiments, which might contribute to the understanding of the matter and avoid that other researcher waste time in similar projects. Authors should provide research files to Editors so that reviewers can assure that the research was carried out as planned and that all the results have been added in the paper. Researchers should follow rules for clinical trial registration and should add the trial registration number in all publications arising from the trial.
Authors who eventually find serious mistakes in their own already published manuscript should obligatorily notify the journal editor and/or the Publisher. They should actively cooperate with them to solve the problem, by retraction or with an errata corrige to be published in next issue of the journal, or providing evidence to the editor of the correctness of the original paper.
This requirement by the authors applies even if serious errors reported in the manuscript are notified from third parties.
Fraudulent or advisedly inaccurate statements in reports of original research constitute unethical behavior , even if data are representes in the manuscript not accurately. The manuscript as a research report should contain sufficient detail and references in order to consent others to replicate as well.
If documented violations of any of the above mentioned policies and duties should be found in any of the journals published by Praise Worthy Prize, the following sanctions should be applied:
- Immediate rejection of the infringing manuscript.
- For any specific violation of the duties depicted above, the flow-charts drafted by COPE will be adopted.
- Prohibition for all of the authors for any new submissions to any journal published by Praise Worthy Prize, either individually or in combination with other authors of the infringing manuscript, as well as in combination with any other authors. This prohibition will be imposed for a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 36 months depending on the seriousness of the violation.
- Prohibition for all of the authors from serving on the Editorial Board of any journal published by Praise Worthy Prize.
In cases where the violations of the above policies are found to be particularly egregious, the publisher reserves the right to impose additional sanctions beyond those described above
